VISION

To maintain a sound accurate population growth model consistent with sound demographic projection principles for counties and jurisdictions within Arizona and the state as a whole.

MISSION

To provide reliable unbiased projections of future population growth and a single state repository for current population references enabling sound planning and decision making by government and private entities.

2022-2060 STATE AND COUNTY POPULATION PROJECTIONS

Population projections are made for July 1 of each year in the projection period. In addition to the medium series that we deem as the most likely scenario, we also produced a low series and a high series. Please refer to the Projections Methodology section near the bottom of the page for assumptions and input data used for these alternative series.

2023-2060 SUB-COUNTY POPULATION PROJECTIONS

Sub-county population projections are made for July 1 of each year. These are consistent with the 2022 medium series of county population projections. Please refer to the Projections Methodology section near the bottom of the page for details on the sub-county projections process.

Guidance on Data Implementation to Municipalities for SB 1162
Pursuant to A.R.S 41-5303, the Arizona Office of Economic Opportunity provides official state economic and demographic research and analysis, including constitutionally required population estimates, employment and unemployment estimates and develops labor market information for the development of the state workforce strategy. The Office of Economic Opportunity has produced the following guidance for municipalities on producing reports that include OEO-constructed data.
