The Arizona Office of Economic Opportunity (OEO) produces the official population estimates and projections for the State of Arizona. Please check out these data in the “POPULATION ESTIMATES” and “POPULATION PROJECTIONS” sections below.

The U.S. Census Bureau publishes demographic information including total population and demographic characteristics through its Population Estimates Program (PEP) and various survey programs. Select pieces of information for Arizona and its counties are presented in the “DEMOGRAPHICS” section below. Please note that, for methodological and other reasons, population estimates released by OEO, PEP, and Census Bureau survey programs are not identical.

July 1 population estimates for the State of Arizona and its counties and incorporated places are published by December 15th each year. The latest estimates that are currently available are for July 1, 2023
